How to Use BetterPic to Generate & Edit Headshots

Here's how I used BetterPic to generate 100 professional headshots in 25 minutes! The process is straightforward, and I broke everything down as clearly as possible.

Step 1: Create an Account & Choose a Package

I started by going to the BetterPic homepage and selecting “Get your headshots now.”

After creating my account, I was asked to choose my plan:

• The “Basic” plan generates 20 headshots in 1 style and is ready in 2 hours.
• The “Pro” plan generates 60 headshots in 3 styles and is ready in 1.5 hours.
• The “Expert” plan generates 120 headshots in 6 styles and is ready in 1 hour. This plan also has unlimited requests for a human editor to edit a single photo!

BetterPic also offers team pricing, which is excellent for business owners with remote teams who want to generate consistent headshots for their Team page while saving time and money from traditional photoshoots.

Step 2: Fill Out the Order Details

After creating an account with my email and choosing a package, BetterPic asked me to fill out my order details for more accurate results. I gave them basic information: my name, ethnicity, use case (up to three), gender, and eye color.

Once complete, I hit “Next.”

Step 3: Pick Your Style & Background

Next, BetterPic asked me what kind of clothing style, color, and location I wanted my headshots to be in. There were plenty of options to choose from. I selected one option for each.

As a freelancer who works remotely, I wanted something clean and casual yet sophisticated. I chose the Studio for my location and black, casual clothing.

I suggest choosing the location and clothing style that best suits you and your occupation and selecting “Save style.”

I could optionally add up to three more styles on the Pro plan! Multiple styles would give me a more comprehensive range of styles aligned with my occupation.

In addition to the studio style I'd just created, I added two more casual and business clothing styles in different colors in locations I felt aligned with my occupation:

I hit “Continue.”

Step 4: Review Image Guidelines

Next, BetterPic asked me to upload six to nine photos. I appreciated the image guide BetterPic provided for the best results possible!

Here are the photos that work best with BetterPic:

• Close-up (from the chest up).
• Selfies taken with your phone.
• Half-body pictures from the waist up.

You'll want to avoid uploading photos where you are:

• Making a face.
• You're with other people.
• The image quality is low.
• You're facing away.
• You're wearing heavy makeup.
• There's nudity.
• You're wearing hats/glasses.
• You're wearing patterned clothing.

Step 5: Upload Photos

After reviewing BetterPic's image guide, I selected “Ready to Upload,” which took me to the Image Generation page. Here, I could upload up to nine images by selecting the big “+” icon.

BetterPic did an excellent job showing me which photos passed and which didn't!

As I uploaded my selfies, BetterPic gave me a quality score rating for each photo and an average quality rating for all my photos. It also automatically discarded the photos that didn't make the cut. BetterPic made uploading quality selfies effortless!

Once I uploaded six to nine of my best selfies, I hit “Generate.”

Step 6: Generate

My headshots were ready in less than half an hour! I selected “View” to see my results.

Something I love about BetterPic is that you can swipe right to “like” a photo or left to “dislike” it—kind of like a dating app! It made sorting through my headshots fun. I could view my “liked” headshots in the “Favorites” tab at the top.

I took some time to swipe through my photos. Here are some of my favorites!

BetterPic did an excellent job generating a variety of photos in different poses, settings, clothing styles, and expressions. I can easily see these photos used for resumes, “About” pages, LinkedIn profiles, or anything business-related! These photos capture a polished and approachable look, perfect for building trust and credibility across platforms.

Step 7: Edit

To edit my headshots with BetterPic, I clicked on my favorite headshot and selected “BP AI Edit.”

My image appeared in the left panel, where I could select from the edit options to modify my image. I could edit every aspect of my image:

• Clothing
• Background
• Skin
• Eyes

But what caught my attention was “Human Edit.” If you're feeling lazy and don't want to edit your headshot manually, you can choose this option! A human editor will tweak your headshot, which I think is pretty cool. It's also nice that a human editor is built into BetterPic rather than making tweaks myself or finding someone to outsource this to.

Selecting “Human Edit” allowed me to specify the part of the photo I wanted the human to edit. In the empty field, I could optionally describe what I wanted to have changed.

I wanted the editor to change my smile by making my teeth bigger. I could make one request per photo, and generating this new image would take between 24 to 48 hours and cost 75 credits.

Once I had everything filled out, I hit generate!

Step 8: View Human Edit

About a day later, I received an email from BetterPic with my edited photo enclosed.

The differences are subtle but noticeable—my teeth are slightly larger, just as requested. BetterPic delivered exactly what I asked for!

Overall, BetterPic provided a fast and straightforward experience, allowing me to generate and edit headshots effortlessly. I appreciated the subtle yet precise changes made by the human editor, especially with my teeth enhancement, delivering exactly what I requested!

Aragon

Aragon claims that they generate the most realistic AI headshots, and they're not lying! I was blown away by how realistic my Aragon headshots were:

Of the AI headshot generators I've tried, Aragon has the most authentic feel, which resembles an actual photoshoot. Like other AI headshot generators, the results weren't perfect. However, it generated a variety of styles in various locations, and I found it challenging to choose the headshots I liked most.

On Aragon's most basic plan, I generated 200 photos, over 100 more than BetterPic. However, with BetterPic, I could add multiple styles to more accurately align with my occupation.

Like BetterPic, Aragon also came with editing tools to change my eye color, upscale my photo, and change the background. I tried all of these tools, and they did the trick!

Meanwhile, BetterPic offered more extensive editing tools to edit clothing, change the background, and correct skin color. With BetterPic, I could even get a human to edit my photo! All tools available on Aragon and BetterPic require credits.

For photos that look the most like an actual photoshoot, choose Aragon. For an option where you have more control over styles and get access to more editing tools, choose BetterPic!

The Multiverse AI

The Multiverse AI is another one of my all-time favorite AI headshot generators. It produced some of the most stunning AI headshots in roughly the same time as BetterPic!

Here are some of my favorite headshots generated with The Multiverse AI:

I couldn't believe how genuine these headshots looked! The headshots had no distortions and were in various settings, poses, and clothing styles.

Of the AI headshot generators I've tried, The Multiverse AI had the quickest and easiest process. All I had to do was pay the fee, upload my selfies, and wait a few minutes to receive my images. So not only was the process and generation time quick, but the results were incredible. However, the downside was that I couldn't choose the background and clothing styles I wanted like I could with BetterPic.

BetterPic and The Multiverse AI have built-in customization tools but approach them differently. With The Multiverse AI, you can edit your headshots with text prompts so you can let your imagination run wild. However, with this approach comes a lack of editing precision.

I used The Multiverse AI to generate a headshot of myself with rainbow-colored hair and can honestly say I was happy with the results:

Meanwhile, BetterPic has more control over styles (you can choose the location, clothing style, and clothing color) and AI customization tools to edit the clothing, background, skin, etc. You can even get a human to edit your photos for you!

Headpix

Last but not least is Headpix, another AI headshot generator that creates hundreds of headshots in various styles based on your occupation. Unfortunately, the headshots generated with Headpix had some distortions with the eyes and teeth, but I was able to pull out some that were usable:

Headpix came with three affordable packages depending on the number of headshots and styles I wanted. The process was simple, and I liked that I could choose my outfit (business or casual) and a background (studio, office, or outdoor). However, one of its biggest downfalls was the lack of customization tools.

Headpix and Betterpic allow you to choose your styles, while Headpix lacks customization tools. BetterPic is best for generating and editing images on one platform, while Headpix is great for simultaneously generating hundreds of professional headshots.

BetterPic Review: The Right AI Headshot Generator For You?

Overall, my experience with BetterPic was great. The process was quick and easy, and my headshots were generated in minutes!

Sorting through my photos was fun as well. I categorized them by selecting each one and swiping left or right on it (left = dislike; right = like). From there, I could edit using the AI tools or get a human to do the edits for me!

From the photos BetterPic generated, I found a few that I really liked. The others at least resembled me, and I didn't notice any distortions!

Compared to the other AI headshot generators I've tried, BetterPic is excellent for anyone wanting control over their style and edits. The images came out looking really professional, making these headshots great for professional profiles, resumes, or personal branding.
